Darlington – Burn C. Stewart, 67, who published the old Darlington Herald, was fatally stricken Friday morning while on a fishing trip at Dryden, Ont. He was employed by the State highway department and the Ladoga Culvert Co retiring last May.  Mr. Stewart was a member of Congregational Christian Church and Masonic Lodge here. A son of Walter A. and Corda Lough Stewart, he was born Aug 21, 1905 in Montgomery county.  He attended Darlington schools and the University of Toronto. He was married at Jeffersonville in May 1934 to Helen Arnold, who survives. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Robert E. of Danville, Ind; three brother, Buford of Eaton; Beryl of Darlington and William of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Holmes of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. Beatrice Rowland of Arcadia, Calif and three grandchildren. A brother, Byron is deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Burkhart Funeral Home in Darlington where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in IOOF Cemetery.
